How Does Home Interior Design Work in Hyderabad? The Complete Process

By Arune Interiors | August 2026 | Hyderabad

For most homeowners, this is their first — and possibly only — major interior design project. The process can feel opaque: what exactly happens between the first meeting and the moment you move in? This guide demystifies the complete journey, from initial consultation to final handover, for a premium home interior project in Hyderabad.

Stage 1: Discovery & Brief (Week 1)

The process begins with a detailed brief session — at your home, at our studio, or via video call. We understand your lifestyle, your aesthetic preferences (through references, mood boards, Pinterest boards), your functional requirements (how many people live here, storage needs, workspace requirements), your budget range, and your handover timeline.

At this stage, we also visit the site for measurements, assess natural light entry directions, identify existing structural elements to work around or with, and photograph every room.

Stage 2: Concept Development (Week 2–3)

Our design team develops a conceptual presentation: material palette, colour story, furniture style direction, ceiling design language, and key design moves (feature wall, statement ceiling, custom joinery piece). This is presented to the homeowner for approval before any detailed design work begins.

Stage 3: 3D Visualization & Space Planning (Week 3–5)

Every room is modelled in 3D — living room, dining area, kitchen, all bedrooms, bathrooms, study, and any special spaces. Photorealistic 3D renders allow you to see exactly what each room will look like: material finishes, furniture proportions, lighting ambiance, and all joinery in context.

This is the most critical stage. Nothing proceeds to execution until you are 100% satisfied with the 3D visualization. Revisions at this stage are free; revisions during execution are expensive and disruptive.

Stage 4: Bill of Quantities (BOQ) Finalization (Week 5–6)

A detailed, itemised BOQ is prepared with every material specified by brand, grade, thickness, and finish. Every hardware item is listed by Hettich/Hafele part number. Every sq ft of joinery is measured. The total project cost is locked at this stage — no surprises during execution.

Stage 5: Execution (Week 6 to Week 18, depending on scope)

Execution follows a strict sequence: Civil demolition → Civil construction → Electrical rough-in → False ceiling GI frame → MEP rough works → Painting (first coat) → Flooring → Joinery installation (modular kitchen, wardrobes, TV unit) → Electrical finish → Painting (final coat) → Lighting installation → Loose furniture delivery and installation → Final styling and handover.

Typical Execution Timelines

Project ScopeExecution Duration
Kitchen + Wardrobes only18–25 working days
2BHK Full Turnkey35–45 working days
3BHK Full Turnkey45–65 working days
4BHK / Duplex Full Turnkey60–90 working days
Luxury Villa (4,000+ sq ft)90–150 working days

Stage 6: Quality Handover

Before keys are handed over, our team conducts a room-by-room quality inspection: drawer mechanism function checks, hinge alignment, paint finish quality, tile grout cleanliness, electrical socket testing, plumbing flow testing, and lighting function verification. Any snagging items are resolved before the formal handover.

What Homeowners Should Ask During Evaluation

  • Is 3D visualization included in the contract, or billed separately?
  • Is the BOQ fixed-price, or subject to revision?
  • Which materials are used for kitchen carcass — HDHMR, BWP, or BWR?
  • Which hardware brand is used — Hettich, Hafele, or Ebco?
  • Who is my single point of contact throughout execution?
  • What is the penalty clause for timeline overrun?
